Local Race Car Driver Supports OCO Cancer Services

Race car driver James Babcock, a competitor in the Oswego Speedway SBS division, presents Carolyn Handville, coordinator of Oswego County Opportunities (OCO) Cancer Services Program, with a donation of $300 in memory of his late wife Jeannine Babcock who passed away from breast cancer eight years ago. Babcock raised the funds during a recent Chicken BBQ hosted by Woodchuck Saloon in Oswego. “I’m thankful that James chose to lend his support to our program,” said Handville. “He also has several of our logos on his car and champions our efforts. It’s rewarding to know that the work we do is acknowledged and appreciated. You can cheer for James when the Oswego Speedway kicks off its 2018 campaign on Saturday, May 26!”

OCO’s Cancer Services Program offers free screenings for breast cancer, cervical cancer, and colon cancer to uninsured men and women ages 40-64.  These screenings are available free of charge and play an important part in maintaining good health.  The program, which partners with over 25 medical providers in Oswego County, receives funding from the New York State Department of Health.  For more information, contact Carolyn Handville at 315-592-0830 or visit www.oco.org.
